About Ryan Krass
I'm the founder of WOW Brands. I build the software and marketing systems that retailers, brands, and service providers run on, and I write about how businesses get found, believed, and chosen now that AI sits between them and their customers.

The business part
For two decades I've run the unglamorous machinery behind real businesses. WOW Brands builds the software and runs the marketing that retailers, brands, and service providers use to get found, plus the consumer businesses that put them in front of customers in the first place. Everything I write comes from that seat. When I talk about a lost lead, I mean a specific washer that didn't get delivered to a specific house because a machine answered a question without us.
The writing part
The writing and the books came together over the past year, as AI developed. The way information gets found has changed, and what that does to discovery needs a different response than the one most businesses still have. That is what I work through here, and it is what producedThe Rent-to-Own Revolution, with more books coming.
The academic part
My research in media psychology at Fielding Graduate University examines how the organization of information shapes what people believe before they consciously decide anything. The academic version is careful and slow, as it should be. But it's the same question my companies answer every day, and each side makes the other sharper.
How I got here
I started building websites young, ran my own shop, then a consulting practice. That turned into WOW Brands, and over the years we've built thousands of sites for companies of every size: local mom-and-pops on one end, Fortune 50 brands on the other. Alongside the sites we built custom software, the systems businesses actually run on rather than the ones that just look good in a pitch.
That work started well before any of this AI shift, which is the part that matters now. I've watched how businesses get found change several times over, and I've had to adapt the software and the marketing each time. This is another one of those turns. A bigger one, but the same job: figure out what actually decides who gets picked, then build for it.
Why this site exists
Because the shift I write about is happening to every business, not just mine. AI now sits between businesses and their customers, deciding what gets seen, believed, and chosen. Most business owners can't see it happening. The posts here are my attempt to make the invisible part visible, for owners who want the real version and general readers who want to understand what actually changed.
